Comments:
This win2k driver comes from IBM's site and is THE BEST I have tried as the other drivers here have the problem that displaying video in 24bit colour at any resolution causes strange vertical lines :(
Cons:
- Driver doesn't contain gamma tab (no loss, you'd never want to alter it honestly)
Pros:
- Works as well as the default XP driver with the added bonus that TVout support is included (you must be in 16bit colour mode)
- Videos no bigger than 352x240 will run accelerated in 1024x768x24bit colour :)
- You have SOME CHOICE with how you watch DVD's (these are best)
1. 1024x768x16bit colour
2. 800x600x24bit colour zoomed
3. 800x600x24bit colour (activate then deactivate TVout achieves this effect when you change resolutions until you reboot ^_^)
Notes:
- the video colour depth restrictions are because the card has only 2555kb's memory
- Thinkpad 600E users, well worth getting a cheap TVout cable off ebay. But remember PAL is 768x576 and your output options are 800x600x16 or 640x480x16 (black border). With the former, a slight jump occurs that is "partially" fixable by moving the image up or down in the driver. Media Player classic is best for video as you can resize image in frame/panandscan options.
Good luck!
